When painting interior walls, it is frequently preferable to use paint with a flat, satin, or eggshell finish while adhering to the manufacturer's guidelines. A happy medium between satin and flat, eggshell offers a slightly less gloss and produces a subtle "glow" look when the light hits it. The look of flat paints is completely matte.
